Who and What We Are
We are a caring voluntary group set up to offer sanctuary to all cats of any age. In most cases adopting from us gives our cats a chance of a better life with a caring owner, but not all our cats have been brought in as strays or victims of cruel treatment. Often a change in circumstance - the breakdown of a relationship or the death of an elderly owner for example - can be the reason some of our cats are looking for a new home. The new owner is expected to make some contribution towards the upkeep of the Sanctuary, when he or she takes a cat, particularly if we have had to pay for an neutering or vaccination

Our day-to-day mission
We take in cats and kittens from the High Peak and Greater Manchester areas.
Before the cats are homed, they are neutered to try to control the ever increasing problem of unwanted kittens. Neutering cats may also help to extend their life.
Where kittens are not old enough to be neutered, we ask the new owner to have this done at the appropriate time (usually at six months), and to let us know when this has been done by returning the certificate to us, signed by a vet. Our cats and kittens are also treated for worms and fleas and are vaccinated.
We then take care in finding the right home for our cats. All new owners are encouraged to keep their new pet’s vaccinations up to date, and we will advise on feeding and general care where appropriate.
If, for any reason a cat does not settle with its new owner, the Sanctuary will take it back. However, we will always try to help wherever possible with any problems that may arise.
